I’m Freyja Chen

I’m Freyja Chen, and I have more than ten years’ experience in banking and finance. I started Luminous Finance Solutions because I wanted to do this the way I always thought it should be done: properly, patiently, and with the client actually understanding what’s happening.

I have a knack for finding solutions that help people move forward, especially when the straightforward option isn’t there. Some of that is experience and some of it is stubbornness. If there’s a way to make something work, I’d rather find it than tell you no and move on.

I listen to what each client actually needs, and I guide them through every step. You’ll never be left wondering where things are up to, and you’ll never get an answer from me without the reasoning behind it. I’d rather over-explain than have you nodding along to something you’re not sure about.

About half my work is ordinary home loans. First places, upgrades, people whose fixed rate is ending. The other half is business owners and self-employed clients whose income is real but doesn’t fit the form the bank hands you. I enjoy both, and I’m equally happy to take either.

I have a real interest in property and finance, so I keep up with the market and the lender policies that change constantly. That’s the homework I do so you don’t have to.

Nearly everyone comes to me through a past client, their accountant, or an agent I’ve worked with before. That’s the part I’m proudest of, and it’s also the standard I hold myself to: I’m usually looking after somebody else’s reputation as well as my own.

I’m based in Sydney and I have clients in every state. Most of the work happens over video and a document portal these days, which suits a busy household better than finding time to meet.
